Extensive cruise ship maintenance for 'Astor' and 'Marco Polo '

cruise ship maintenance

The cruise vessels ‘Astor’ and ‘Marco Polo’, both operated by Cruise & Maritime Voyages, have been at Damen Shiprepair Vlissingen (DSV) for their normal maintenance work. Damen Shiprepair carried out its scope within the usual tight timeframe.

‘Astor’, whose passenger capacity of just over 600, arrived on 17 October 2014. Only days later, on 11 November, ‘Marco Polo’ arrived in Vlissingen. The vessel, though similarly sized to ‘Astor’, accommodates up to 800 passengers. ‘Marco Polo’ was scheduled for a class survey and similar scope of maintenance to ‘Astor’. Next to the planned maintenance the yard also carried out some “cosmetic surgery”. Damen Shiprepair Vlissingen succeeded in getting both ships ready in time for planned onward voyages.
